Day Two of the ICFF Event

Another wonderful day spent at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. On day two I joined other interior designers at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Stage for a free-approved session. Alan M. Siegel, a lawyer with expertise in interior design contract law, showed us how to develop and use legal contracts to protect ourselves and our business. Alan provided critical insight from his 40+ year career working with top designers in the industry. He is the author of the interior design form contracts for the ASID.  Alan focused on key clauses from the new and reformatted 2018 agreements which are available for purchase to help you protect your firm, manage risk, and safeguard compensation.

I also had some time to attend the ICFF Talk Stage to hear the panel of speakers ( Andrea Pompei, Chelsea Butler, and Christopher Grubb) discuss on staying relevant as designers to remain successful. The casual discussion addressed smart ideas to keep ourselves and our business ahead of the curve. It touched on everything from properly setting fees, establishing meaningful relationships and communicating our value as a design professional.

The information shared by each speaker was simply priceless.  After listening to the wonderful words of wisdom I then turned my attention to visiting the vendors. Here are some images of my favorite from day two:
